Manmaya Subba hails from Kabi, North Sikkim, where she used to run her own shop before jumping on board with the Agapi team back in 2024.

How do you feel working in an environment only empowered by women?

What made you join Agapi?

A friend who was already there tipped me off.

What advices would you give to anyone who joins this firm?

If you're thinking of joining, go for it. It's way better than a government gig, with tons more chances to grow and learn new stuff.

Pempa Lamu Sherpa

Pempa Lamu Sherpa, also from Kabi in North Sikkim, came over from Golden Tips on MG Marg and joined Agapi in 2023. 

How do you feel working in an environment only empowered by women? 

All-women setup super joyful, you feel independent and like your voice really matters.

What made you join Agapi?

I have a zeal for creating or making different products that do good for the planet.

What advices would you give to anyone who joins this firm?

My tip to the newcomers would be that you'll be heard here and free to speak your mind at work.

Purnima Lepcha

Purnima Lepcha is from Kabi, North Sikkim, and Agapi was her very first job back in 2023. (Administrator)

How do you feel working in an environment only empowered by women? 

Working with all the women feels amazing as they're like sisters to me and is hooked by how the place puts women first.

What made you join Agapi?

I wanted to make a change in the society by putting foreword women empowered brands encourage social changes.

What advices would you give to anyone who joins this firm?

If anyone's joining, you'll gain plenty of hands-on experience creating skin-friendly products that benefit the environment as well.

Martha Lepcha

Martha Lepcha grew up in Central Pandam near Singtam, and did her time at Anapurna Mart, before hopping over to Agapi in February.

I enjoy working with a team of women; it really stands out today and shows that we can achieve great results together

I am committed to gaining knowledge and opportunities so I can help build a brighter future for the next generation.

Renuka Chettri

Renuka Chettri from West Sikkim is fresh into her first job at Agapi, starting in January.

I saw this as a great place to develop new skills, become more independent.

To understand how sustainable products are created, which is exactly why I chose to join.

Newcomers will walk away with a bunch of cool skills and a real grasp on the whole manufacturing process.

Laki Doma Sherpa

Laxmi Tamang

Laxmi Tamang, from Gangtok's Sichey area, ran her own beauty salon before joining in February.

With my background, the all-women firm felt like a perfect, exciting fit.
